Ayahuasca Retreats in Antigua, Guatemala

Transform your life through authentic Ayahuasca ceremonies guided by a Shipibo maestro from the Amazon. Experience small groups, personalized healing, and comprehensive support from preparation through integration.

Ayahuasca-Bebida.jpg

Ayahuasca is a sacred plant medicine brew from the Amazon rainforest, traditionally used by indigenous shamans for healing, spiritual growth, and connection to the divine. Combining the Banisteriopsis caapi vine with the Psychotria viridis leaf, this powerful medicine has been called 'la Medicina' for good reason.

What Ayahuasca Can Help With

The medicine works on multiple levels—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual—helping you confront what needs to be released and showing you the path forward. Many people describe Ayahuasca as years of therapy condensed into a single night, though the real work continues in the integration that follows.

Depression & Anxiety

Grief & Loss

Process and find peace with what you've lost

What to Expect in Ceremony

Ceremonies begin at sunset in our dedicated ceremonial hall. After opening words and intentions, you'll be handed a small cup of Ayahuasca while you're seated on your mattress. The shaman guides the ceremony with icaros (healing songs), creating a safe container for your journey.

Effects typically begin within 30-45 minutes and last 4-6 hours. Throughout the night, our experienced facilitator provides support as needed—whether that's helping you to the bathroom, offering water, or simply being present.

The experience is deeply personal. Some people have vivid visions and journeys to other realms. Others receive insights without visuals. Many experience profound emotional release—tears, laughter, purging. Trust that the medicine gives you exactly what you need.

Our Approach: Small Groups,
Deep Healing

We limit Aya retreats to 6 guests. Not for exclusivity, but for depth. Your healing deserves undivided attention, personalized ceremonies, and a program designed entirely around you. Our shaman can work with each person individually during ceremony, and our facilitators ensure no one is overlooked.

Safety and Medical Screening

A

Medical Information

Your safety is our highest priority. Before acceptance, all guests complete a thorough medical questionnaire. Ayahuasca has contraindications with certain medications (especially SSRIs, MAOIs, and some heart medications) and medical conditions.

B

Diet & Preparations

We also require dietary preparation (avoiding certain foods, alcohol, and recreational drugs) for 7-15 days before your arrival. These aren't arbitrary rules, they're essential for your safety and for the medicine to work effectively.

C

Clear Boundaries & Consent Rules

During our ceremonies, a female facilitator is always present and aware. Should the maestro need to perform any practice involving physical contact, clear and express consent from the participant is always requested.

Meet Your Shaman

Introducing Maestro Shonenmetsa

Maestro Shonenmetsa (Demer) hails from the Peruvian jungle, born into the Shipibo-Conibo people, whose ancestral knowledge of master plants and healing traditions stretches back generations through the Amazon rainforest.

Following in the footsteps of his father, who was also an Ayahuasca Maestro, he has dedicated his life to working with the sacred medicine across numerous retreats throughout Peru. Through rigorous dietas with master plants, tobacco, and colognes, Maestro Demer has cultivated and expanded his healing powers. His powerful icaros—traditional medicine songs—serve to protect, cleanse, and guide participants safely through their journeys, creating a bridge between the passengers and the profound wisdom of the plant.
